Tenerife Scenery MSFS
This add-on replaces the default MSFS ground textures on Tenerife with custom high-resolution color-corrected aerial imagery. It also improves the scenery in several ways and includes optional mesh.
1. Aerial Imagery
- 2 versions with different resolutions and files sizes – you decide which you would like to use and you can switch between versions anytime
- Version “Standard” (20.5 GB): high resolution, best ratio between sharpness of textures and file size – recommended for the majority of users
- Version “Premium” (58.1 GB): very high resolution on the whole island – recommended if you want the best experience while flying low and slow
- Improvements over the default MSFS ground textures include:
- realistic manual color correction that brings Tenerife to life
- optimization for realistic display in MSFS lighting conditions
- sharper image with more visible details (e.g. rock structure)
- no green tint, especially no green roads and no green sand
- no clouds visible on the ground
- higher resolution (depending on the version used)
2. Mesh (DEM)
- 3 versions with resolutions of 2 m, 4 m and 10 m – you choose the best for your hardware and graphics settings
- Mesh for the airports is included and has been adjusted to eliminate bumps on the ground
- Please note: This mesh is an experimental feature. While scenery and textures are very FPS friendly, this mesh uses more hardware resources, especially the 2 m version. All of the screenshots were taken with the 4 m mesh add-on.
3. Scenery
- Upgraded Ports
- added 3D docks and more than 90 hand-placed 3D boats, ships, yachts and cruise ships to the port of Santa Cruz
- added oil rigs to the ports of Santa Cruz and Granadilla
- oil rigs and some cruise ships have helipads that can be landed on
- added cranes and container ships to the cargo terminal of Santa Cruz
- added night lighting to all ports and piers
- ports on the aerial imagery are no longer underwater
- Appropriate Vegetation
- added palm trees and other typical vegetation to coastal cities
- replaced trees at Teide crater with typical vegetation
- replaced deciduous trees with pine trees in some areas
- removed incorrectly placed trees along the coast
- improved vegetation to match with the aerial imagery (e.g. bushes instead of trees in rocky areas)
- Other Improvements
- removed some incorrectly placed buildings
- added some missing night lights at the coast of Santa Cruz
- applied a custom water mask in some areas to make breakwaters and piers visible
Aerial imagery, mesh and scenery are put together as separate add-ons and can be used independently of one another.
Compatibility
This add-on is compatible with the airport by Sim-Wings (no changes to the files necessary). Several freeware airports were tested as well and no issues found.

Best scenery ever! The quality is phenomenal, I wish the whole MSFS Earth could look this good. The geographic features are visually stunning, buildings and roads look natural, and the included airports are superb. Stellar framerates too! I just finished ripping through the skies in an MB-339, taking in views at high speed from a variety of altitudes. I really can’t say enough how fantastic this scenery is. Next I’ll be taking the Aviat Husky low and slow over this amazing place. Then back to the MB-339 for some island hopping to the wonderful El Hierro and La Gomera to see the many sights there. Thanks Island Creations for this amazing scenery!!

Its amazing how looks now Tenerife,even i’ve bought El Hierro, but in Santa Cruz there is a terrain fail deformation and there isnt the auditory and the congress palace. I hope with the next update it will fix. Good job

This addon is a massive improvement over the MSFS original. I’ve visited Tenerife on a number of occasions and the colours look natural and real. The textures also look great, and blend into the objects very well. Premium is obviously the best but is a big download. Standard version is okay but the roads don’t look good imo. Highly recommend it.

Improves the island of Tenerife a lot! Premium version has a huge file size, but is the version to chose over Standard. Perfect together with Simwings GCTS (Manual for compatibility included). Also great customer support.

I started with the Lanzarote 8GB version from Island Creations and was delighted about the change in colour and detail the original scenery in MSFS doesn’t offer. However, even more impressive is the premium version with greater resolution. Here is where not only the more natural colours come to benefit but the finer resolution, too, in regard to road lines (which are disturbingly interrupted in the lower resolution version) and outlines of satellite imagery. As VR enthusiast, I can only talk for those who enjoy a 4K resolution like myself with P8KX or G2, VR headsets with lower resolution might not see the difference so much and surely depends on the type of GPU used. The fact that the scenery is way more natural in colour and details, where anyone who likes to be stunned by the beauty of these islands and this includes the whole set of Island Creations so far, makes the expense a worth while investment. It’s like going on holiday for a few hours of exploration. I really look forward to see the last 2 islands of the Canaries still missing with La Palma and Gran Canaria. It would be fab if these updates come soon.

At first I was a bit sceptical, since there is already a good Asobo standard aerial coverage of the island in MSFS. But then I gave it a go and was very impressed. Together with a 5m mesh (also available at simmarket) and the simwings airport the whole island of Tenerife looks phantastic. Absolutely not comparable to default. Since I´ve been there in real life several times I could recognize all the places I´ve been and the colors and details of these aerials are much much better than default. I like it!
