Lanzarote Scenery MSFS
This add-on replaces the default MSFS ground textures on Lanzarote, La Graciosa, Isla de Montaña Clara and Isla de Alegranza with custom high-resolution color-corrected aerial imagery. It also improves the scenery in several ways and includes optional mesh.
1. Aerial Imagery
- 3 versions with different resolutions and files sizes – you decide which you would like to use and you can switch between versions anytime
- Version “Standard” (8.9 GB): high resolution, best ratio between sharpness of textures and file size – recommended for the majority of users
- Version "Premium" (18.5 GB): high resolution and ultra-high resolution at densely populated areas (see below) – recommended if you want to fly really low over cities and beaches
- Version “Premium Plus” (31.8 GB): very high resolution and ultra-high resolution at densely populated areas (see below) – recommended for the absolute best experience
- Improvements over the default MSFS ground textures include:
- realistic manual color correction that brings Lanzarote to life
- optimization for realistic display in MSFS lighting conditions
- sharper image with more visible details (e.g. rock structure)
- no green tint, especially no green roads and no green sand
- no clouds visible on the ground
- higher resolution (depending on the version used)
- Ultra-high resolution areas of the "Premium" and "Premium Plus" versions:
- along the coast from Costa Teguise to Puerto del Carmen including Arrecife and the airport
- the whole populated area around Playa Blanca
2. Mesh (DEM)
- 3 versions with resolutions of 2 m, 4 m and 10 m – you choose the best for your hardware and graphics settings
- Mesh for the airport is included and has been adjusted to eliminate bumps on the ground
- Please note: This mesh is an experimental feature. While scenery and textures are very FPS friendly, this mesh uses more hardware resources, especially the 2 m version. All of the screenshots were taken with the 2 m mesh add-on.
3. Scenery
- Upgraded Ports
- added docks and hundreds of hand-placed motorboats, sailboats, yachts, catamarans and ships to all ports
- added one container ship, cranes and containers to the cargo area of the port of Arrecife
- added one cruise ship with night lighting and a helipad that you can land on to the port of Arrecife
- added a Fred Olsen Express ferry with night lighting to the port of Playa Blanca
- Enhanced Night Lighting
- added night lighting to all ports and piers
- increased the density of night lighting in all cities
- hotel pools, plazas, sports facilities, etc. are now illuminated at night
- Appropriate Vegetation
- added palm trees and other typical vegetation to all cities
- improved vegetation to match with the aerial imagery (e.g. no trees on the lava landscape)
- removed incorrectly placed trees along the coast
- Accurate Coastline
- applied a custom water mask to match the course of the simulator's ocean water with the coastline on the aerial imagery
- beaches, islets, sandbars and other parts of the coast that were partly underwater are now completely visible giving the coastline a more defined look
- improved visibility of the shallow water areas at Playa Caleton Blanco
- Other Improvements
- added exact models of all lighthouses with animations
- added the Arrecife Gran Hotel
- added two windmills near Las Caletas
- removed large warehouses in hotel areas
- removed incorrectly placed buildings on top of fields, pools, sports facilities, etc.
- fixed an elevation issue at El Lago Verde
Aerial imagery, mesh and scenery are put together as separate add-ons and can be used independently of one another.
Compatibility
This add-on is compatible with the incredibly detailed airport from Just Flight.

Five stars now with compatibility with the amazing JustSims GCRR airport.
As I said in previous review, it would be great some adjusts with tipical small white houses in some areas and grand hotel at Arrecife. But anyway I would recommend this awasome addon. Great work!!

Thanks for this incredible work. Absolutely amazing scenery!
As other customers opinions it would be great to revamp some points such as the Gran Hotel in Arrecife, and the small white houses near Playa Honda, these little houses are almost part of the airport.
And finally, I think is vital the compatibilty with the new scenery from Just Flight’s airport.

The product is very expensive for the actual content included; however, the content is very good. Pity that an appropriate autogen is missing. This is an island where houses are all white, and the current autogen has them very “Mediterranean”. The 2m mesh has been a great update. I would have probably rated it lower but the developers are fairly responsive and keep updating it, this is great!
By the way, I used this product A LOT!

Looks very realistic, even the road markings such as arrows and zebra crossings remind me of when being there. Roundabouts also look familiar with their unique designs. To really put the icing on the cake the buildings need a revamp as well as introducing obvious landmarks such as the Gran Hotel in Arrecife, lighthouses and various wind turbines. But still great work so far. Very happy someone’s dedicating time to these islands which is the best they’ve ever looked.

Fifth star added after the removal of forests covering the rocky lava terrain. Aerial views are impressive now in natural areas.
Just one last thing for next update: building are usually too high and, more important for a reliable depiction of towns and villages, houses are predominantly white in Lanzarote. The greyish/brownish tones selected by Asobo are far from reality.

Just back from holidays in Lanzarote. It’s nice to see this dry island in its real brownish colours.
But… Please remove the trees!!! There are no trees in natural areas of Lanzarote, there are just a few planted trees in built areas such as towns or around isolated houses.
It’s particularly absurd and annoying to see little forests in lava deserts and rocky terrains. I know that trees come from the default Asobo version, but since Island Creations provides a not so cheap enhanced scenery, it might be a good idea to correct that, for the sake of realism. The fifth star will follow a tree-cutting update!

Have never tried to add an external add-on except through Marketplace within MSFS, the first time I tried was with this Lanzarote Aerial Image Premium and I cannot tell you how happy I am with it. Was concerned how it wold all fit in to MSFS and emailed Island Creatikns – had virtually immediate response and they could not have been more helpful – suffice it to say, downloaded, stored in Community folder and works perfectly. being a bit of a nerd (and having used FSim since late 80’s in one form or another) was delighted with the scenery pack here, have been to Lanzarote 3 times and it was exactly how we had remembered it.
Cannot praise Island Creations enough for both the quality of their product and the fantastic customer service, this will not bet the only module I will be buying from them.

I started with the Lanzarote 8GB version from Island Creations and was delighted about the change in colour and detail the original scenery in MSFS doesn’t offer. However, even more impressive is the premium version with greater resolution. Here is where not only the more natural colours come to benefit but the finer resolution, too, in regard to road lines (which are disturbingly interrupted in the lower resolution version) and outlines of satellite imagery. As VR enthusiast, I can only talk for those who enjoy a 4K resolution like myself with P8KX or G2, VR headsets with lower resolution might not see the difference so much and surely depends on the type of GPU used. The fact that the scenery is way more natural in colour and details, where anyone who likes to be stunned by the beauty of these islands and this includes the whole set of Island Creations so far, makes the expense a worth while investment. It’s like going on holiday for a few hours of exploration. I really look forward to see the last 2 islands of the Canaries still missing with La Palma and Gran Canaria. It would be fab if these updates come soon.
