La Gomera Scenery MSFS
This add-on replaces the default MSFS ground textures on La Gomera with custom high-resolution color-corrected aerial imagery. It also improves the scenery in several ways and includes optional mesh.
1. Aerial Imagery
- 2 versions with different resolutions and files sizes – you decide which you would like to use and you can switch between versions anytime
- Version “Premium” (8.8 GB): very high resolution, best ratio between sharpness of textures and file size – recommended for the majority of users
- Version “Premium Plus” (28.3 GB): ultra-high resolution – recommended for the absolute best experience
- Improvements over the default MSFS ground textures include:
- realistic manual color correction that brings La Gomera to life
- optimization for realistic display in MSFS lighting conditions
- sharper image with more visible details (e.g. rock structure)
- no green tint, especially no green roads and no green sand
- no clouds visible on the ground
- higher resolution
2. Mesh (DEM)
- 3 versions with resolutions of 2 m, 4 m and 10 m – you choose the best for your hardware and graphics settings
- Mesh for the airports is included and has been adjusted to eliminate bumps on the ground
- Please note: This mesh is an experimental feature. While scenery and textures are very FPS friendly, this mesh uses more hardware resources, especially the 2 m version. All of the above screenshots were taken with the 2 m mesh add-on.
Aerial imagery, mesh and scenery are put together as separate add-ons and can be used independently of one another.
3. Scenery
- Upgraded Ports
- added docks and more than 150 hand-placed boats, ships, yachts and one cruise ship to the ports
- Appropriate Vegetation
- added palm trees and other typical vegetation to coastal cities
- improved vegetation to match with the aerial imagery (e.g. bushes instead of trees in rocky areas)
- removed incorrectly placed trees along the coast
- Other Improvements
- removed incorrectly placed buildings on top of lakes and in the forests
- added POI markers for 5 landmarks and 2 cities
Compatibility
This add-on is compatible with the airport by Sim-Wings (no changes to the files necessary).

This island just gets better and better. Not only the correct chocolate brown colouring but now with the 2m mesh can be quite breath taking especially flying small aircraft in vr amongst the valleys and mountains. I hope the other islands get the same treatment as this one.

I revising my star top 5 last time Im looking at the wrong textture map, with this Island Creation La Gomera and 2m DEM provided it is as good as Tenerife too. Excellent.. I hope someday will add real buildings… would be really amazing

This addon is a must have if you want to add realism especially flying low. But compared with tenerife this still need more improvement like the agonda rock or los organos unique form, etc. Thx

I started with the Lanzarote 8GB version from Island Creations and was delighted about the change in colour and detail the original scenery in MSFS doesn’t offer. However, even more impressive is the premium version with greater resolution. Here is where not only the more natural colours come to benefit but the finer resolution, too, in regard to road lines (which are disturbingly interrupted in the lower resolution version) and outlines of satellite imagery. As VR enthusiast, I can only talk for those who enjoy a 4K resolution like myself with P8KX or G2, VR headsets with lower resolution might not see the difference so much and surely depends on the type of GPU used. The fact that the scenery is way more natural in colour and details, where anyone who likes to be stunned by the beauty of these islands and this includes the whole set of Island Creations so far, makes the expense a worth while investment. It’s like going on holiday for a few hours of exploration. I really look forward to see the last 2 islands of the Canaries still missing with La Palma and Gran Canaria. It would be fab if these updates come soon.

I have been “flying” sims for over 20 years…FSX, the two X-Planes and now MSFS and I have never seen a better scenery addon to any platform. The cliffs, rock formations, trees, bushes and other vegetation, the roads and villages all look like actual photos. Even if you are not a fan of Canary Island flying, this is worth purchasing just to fly over for the fun of it. Island Creations really nailed this one “spot on”. Best scenery I have ever seen. GET IT.
